- Grow awareness of the Junior League of Houston amongst potential supporters and donors
- Drive traffic through media placements
- Communicate the Junior League of Houston news and events to the public
CHALLENGES
The PR Boutique was retained for media relations to not only increase awareness of the Junior League, but to combat age-old stigmas with positive news stories positioning individual members, and the League as a whole, as community members who balance work, families and charity. In order to facilitate this, The PR Boutique established bylined articles in well-known trade publications where members could tell their story of work-life balance while voluntarily crediting the Junior League of Houston as an important part of that harmony. Traditional media relations and event highlights shined as a further way to engrain the League’s monetary impact into the community.
SUCCESS METRICS
- In order to kick off the media blitz, The PR Boutique generated as much awareness as possible by creating and distributing a comprehensive electronic press kit to accompany the new board announcement to various local media outlets including, CultureMap Houston, Houston Chronicle and PaperCity Houston amongst many other publications.
- Without skipping a beat, The PR Boutique has distributed press releases and media alerts over the past two years for the Junior League’s major events, including: Childspree, Opening Style Show, Adelaide Lovett Baker Award, Annual Charity Ball, Etiquette Luncheon, Kids in the Kitchen and more. As a result of The PR Boutique’s strategic planning over the past two years, the Junior League has received nearly 50 notable media placements.
- Along with spreading the word about the Junior League’s events, The PR Boutique worked hard to establish members as industry and community leaders through bylined articles in Shale Magazine and relevant opportunities highlighting the many individual accomplishments of the members. The Junior League of Houston’s key messages have been successfully crafted and spread throughout the community, and will continue to expand its reach and community support with the dedication of The PR Boutique.
