CLIENT

Petro Waste Environmental LP is building one of the largest networks of oilfield waste-processing and disposal facilities in the United States, strategically locating facilities throughout the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford plays. The company provides all forms of non-hazardous E&P waste-processing and disposal. Petro Waste is continually adding new facilities to ensure its customers have access to waste disposal facilities that meet federal and state guidelines as close as possible to their drilling sites. It is the company goal to be no more than 30 miles from any E&P activity within its operating basins.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

  • Craft the Petro Waste Environmental message
  • Introduce Petro Waste Environmental to the general public and media
  • Secure media placements through strategic pitches
  • Communicate Petro Waste Environmental news and events to the public
  • Position Petro Waste Environmental CEO and Founder George Wommack as an oil and gas industry expert

CHALLENGES

The PR Boutique was retained to handle the messaging, media relations, special events and influencer relations for Petro Waste Environmental. When Petro Waste Environmental proposed a state-of-the-art facility that processes nonhazardous drilling by-products half a mile outside of Nordheim, Texas, the residents were vastly upset. The challenge was to inform the landowners and county officials of the benefits of the new facility and to dispel the misinformation that was spread via word of mouth. The Railroad Commission held a hearing in Austin in order to provide Petro Waste Environmental with a permit to build the new facility. It was The PR Boutique’s goal to inform the public of the benefits of the facility so there would not be many protestors at the hearing.

SUCCESS METRICS

    • Through a multilayer public relations campaign consisting of strategic and aggressive messaging, media relations, community outreach, event marketing, advertising and influencer relations, the residents of Nordheim came to understand that Petro Waste Environmental was there to help.
    • As a result of our efforts, the protestors at the Railroad Commission hearing did not present evidence that challenged the permit.
    • As a result of The PR Boutique’s ongoing media outreach, features have been secured:
